Levelbeschreibung
Deutsch
Level description
English
Beginner (Balboa only):
You have taken a few taster classes or never danced Balboa before. In this level, you will learn the basic steps and some of the most important figures.
Beginner+:
You’ve been dancing regularly for several months and may have already attended a festival or two. You’re able to combine the basic steps well and are starting to try dancing to faster music. In this level, you’ll build on your basics and learn new figures.
Intermediate:
You’ve been dancing regularly for over a year and have taken several classes and workshops. Basics and more complex variations are no problem for you, even with faster music. You can easily mix basic figures with footwork variations. Your goal is to grow as a dancer by learning new figures and variations. You also want to improve your technique and improvisation skills to express yourself better.
Intermediate/Advanced (Balboa only):
You’ve been dancing for several years and have taken international workshops. You focus on technique, musicality, creativity, and good connection with your partner. You learn new moves quickly and use your solid technique to improvise and play with rhythm – whether the music is fast or slow. Your goal is to refine your movement quality and your leading or following skills.
Advanced:
This is the highest level, made for experienced dancers who have trained at a high level for many years. You pick up new content quickly, adapt easily to different partners, and dance smoothly – from simple to complex, slow to very fast. For you, dancing is about communication. You lead or follow effortlessly, respond creatively, and leave room for your partner’s ideas. You want to improve your technique, musicality, and expression even more, and you are highly self-reflective.
Slow Dancing Special:
This special class is open to anyone who has signed up for an Intermediate or higher level – in either Lindy Hop or Balboa.

Code of conduct
Our guidelines for a safe event.
Beware of our Code of Conduct to ensure a welcoming and safe experience for everyone involved. Here are our specific guidelines:
- We are dedicated to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere where every attendee feels welcome and protected.
- Our event encourages respectful interactions at every level, from dancers and teachers to artists and organizers.
- Everyone has the right to decline a dance without needing to provide an explanation.
- We stand against discrimination of any kind, whether based on religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, mental health, physical appearance, or dance skill.
- We expect all participants to maintain good body hygiene, arriving freshly showered and using perfume or deodorant in moderation, especially considering the close contact in dancing.
- Our event implements a NO FEEDBACK policy, meaning unsolicited feedback is discouraged in classes and on the dance floor.
- We ask dancers to be constantly aware on the dance floor to prevent injuries. In the event of an accident, stop immediately and check on your partner's well-being.
- For the safety of all dancers, aerials are restricted to jam circles or performances and are not allowed on the regular dance floor to minimize the risk of injury.
- Our event firmly opposes all forms of harassment, including sexual assault.
- We will have a Care Team available at our event, offering support to anyone experiencing discomfort or unpleasant situations.
- Due to the racist logo of the local beer brand, which has been the subject of numerous discussions over the past year, we want our participants to understand that we are not collaborating with this brewery. However, the logo might still be visible on some items( e.g. Fridge,... ) at the venue, which unfortunately, we cannot control.
Care Team
We have a dedicated Care Team to assist with any questions or issues participants may have. At the check-in, you'll find photos of the Care Team members displayed for easy recognition. Throughout the event, the Care Team members can be identified by their buttons or staff shirts. If you need assistance and can't locate a Care Team member, feel free to approach the MC or any member of the organizing team at any time.
